"... Boyle throughout gives the impression of carefully sculpting the music from a most interior place; Nowhere is this clearer than in Passpied I. Throughout, accents are perfectly judged, and a sure sense of rhythm forms the backbone of these fine readings ... Performed on a Gratrian-Steinweg piano ... this 2018 recording is superbly realized..."

“…Throughout the CD Hamilton’s exceptionally creative approach to text setting is apparent. There is a fundamental relation between the development of the text and of the music, both pared back to cellular repetition, that allows them to progress hand-in-hand… There are few composers active today who have such an instantly recognisable musical personality, while at the same time offering different experiences with new pieces. This is all the more impressive considering the materials he uses are some of the most well-worn. There is more where this CD came from too, with works such as c for orchestra most deserving of an outing on disc. NMC should be commended for once again bringing an important voice in Irish and British music to the fore.”

“The Neave Trio has garnered much acclaim for its innovative programming…. its latest offering, Her Voice, examines the work of three pioneering female composers of the past 200 years … The selections are described as a celebration, and indeed they reveal vivid contrasts between the artistic worlds of three diverse and ground-breaking composers… the Neave Trio, playing superbly throughout, offer an expansive and thoroughly enjoyable performance.”  ****
