All this is so natural, virtuoso and energetic that it grips the listener with its electrifying brilliance from the first to the last bar. The change from Kapustin’s to Schnittke’s sound world is brutal… The Schnittke Concerto, too, is performed with the highest degree of intensity and gripping power by Eckart Runge and the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin under Frank Strobel.”
