About
Mozart’s Gran Partita is probably the most important work ever written for the Harmoniemusik genre, that music composed for ensembles of wind instruments which often allowed the enjoyment of contemporary operas, through convenient arrangements, in the houses of the nobility of the time. But this master composition by Mozart is originally conceived for such an ensemble, here brought to its maximal configuration: 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 basset horns, 2 bassoons, 4 horns, and a contrabass… Eric Hoeprich’s ensemble Nachtmusique renders a milestone interpretation of the work on this 2001 Delft recording.
