Notes
Trains and boats and planes - and a lot more - have all provided inspiration for talented composers, as this fascinating collection vividly illustrates. All kinds of motion are represented, with the final track even transporting us into outer space. Backroom boys such as Jack Beaver, Len Stevens, Wally Stott and Sidney Torch excelled in creating three minute cameos in this style, and the CD opens with the famous ITN theme, appropriately called "Non Stop".
Light Music on the Move
This is the latest in Guild's popular light-music series, the title of this collection obviously giving a clue to the inspiration which guided the composers of these enjoyable works. But 'movement' is far from being as simple a thing as the title might suggest. It can be fast or slow, and can be caused by any number of factors, from humans on their own to the weird and wonderful machines they create. Whether motion occurs on land or sea, or in the air - and even in outer space - you'll find it all in this selection of varied orchestral exercises.
