Disc of the Month
"... Thoughtful artistry comes through in his [Beczala] ability to vary tone emotionally, even within the music of a single character... The Valencian choristers rise to their duties sonorously; the orchestra sounds capable enough (there's a fine clarinet lead-in to Cavardossi's final musing. Marco Boemi starts out the disc too languidly with the Tosca arias, but brings more drama to the rest."
