Choral: King's Singers,The
About
This brand new Christmas album from The King’s Singers features 25 tracks covering everything from contemporary choral gems and folk songs through to well-loved carols. Dotted throughout the album are several of the most famous English church carols, which take The King’s Singers right back to their earliest singing days, and which also reflect the group’s heritage at King’s College, Cambridge. In Christmas Carols with The King’s Singers, the group bottle that frosty, moonlit, fireside Christmas wonder and pour it into their sound.

Reviews
“… This new album has some of the most beautiful ensemble singing I’ve heard in a long time. The arrangements are all tasteful and the singing, both in solos and ensemble, exquisite… What a suitable disc for a wintry evening by the fire!”
David Reynolds – American Record Guide – January/February 2022
“… It’s a typically varied programme which reaches across the decades, performed with pitch-perfect vivacity and no small amount of joy. Very glad tidings.” ****
Michael Beek – BBC Music magazine (Brief Notes section) – Christmas 2021
Christmas Album Round-up
“For their latest Christmas album, The Kings Singers mix items which hark back to the group's origins in Kings College Choir with folksongs and contemporary choral numbers. The result is an attractive programme of 25 pieces from O Little Town of Bethlehem to John Tavener's O Do Not Move to Pierre Villette's Hymne a la Vierge. In all the items, the group's familiar sophisticated sound creates an atmosphere at once distinct and recognisable.”
Robert Hugill – PlanetHugill.com – 10 December 2021
“… there is nothing here which I would not be happy to have with me at any point over Christmas, and beyond. Cleobury would have loved it all; The King’s Singers have done his memory proud.”
Marc Rochester – MusicWeb-International.com – 25 November 2021
