He has tirelessly ushered in a new era of multimedia and ambitious global touring initiatives which have made the Teatro Regio Torino one of Italy’s most important cultural ambassadors. Maestro Noseda opens the 2016 – 17 season in October celebrating the 120th anniversary of the premiere of Puccini’s La bohème which took place at the Teatro Regio Torino in 1896. A major highlight of his 2015 – 16 season was a new production of La donna serpente by Alfredo Casella, a composer he has championed for many years both in concert and in recordings.

In January 2016 Maestro Noseda was appointed the eighth Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra which makes its home at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. This relationship dates back to 2008 and has included many performances at the Barbican Centre, along with touring and a residency at the Aix-en-Provence Festival in 2013. The War Requiem he conducted in 2011 in London and New York was praised internationally and subsequently released on LSO Live.

Principal Guest Conductor of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra since 2012, Maestro Noseda is also a regular guest of the Cleveland Orchestra, Filarmonica della Scala, NHK Symphony, Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Philadelphia Orchestra and Wiener Symphoniker. He also continues to work with institutions where he has held posts, including the BBC Philharmonic which he led from 2002 - 2011; the Pittsburgh Symphony, where the Victor de Sabata Chair was created for him; and the Mariinsky Theatre which appointed him its first-ever foreign principal guest conductor in 1997, a position he held for a decade.

In May 2015 he made his Berlin Philharmonic debut followed by his Salzburg Festival debut leading performances of Il trovatore with the Vienna Philharmonic in the summer of 2015.

In the 2016 – 17 season he conducts a new production of Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette which has its premiere at the New Year’s Eve Gala. Last season he led a critically acclaimed new production of Les Pêcheurs de Perles which also had its premiere at the New Year’s Eve Gala on December 31, 2015.
