Albert E Kelly

Albert Edward Kelly ( London , September 8, 1914 -?, 1994 ) was a British composer , conductor and military musician .

Kelly received his first music lessons from his father, a musician in the British Army Grenadier Guards band .  At the age of 14, he became a military musician in the Dragoon Guards Band .  By World War II , his wish became military captain, delayed. He was injured in 1944 at the invasion of Normandy . From 1946 he studied at the Royal Military School of Music "Kneller Hall" in Twickenham .  Then he studied at the Royal College of Music in London as well as at the Royal Academy of Music in London. 

In 1951 he was appointed chief of the Royal Sussex Regiment ( Chapelmaster ) to the military music chapel.  From 1961 to 1979 he was employed by the British Civil Service .

As a composer he is best known for his marshes Nijmegen , Arnhem and Arromanches .
