About
Eric Hoeprich, the clarinet principal in the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century since its foundation, presents here the first recording on Glossa with his own wind ensemble, Nachtmusique, specialized in the Harmoniemusik genre, popular among the wealthy classes in late 18th-century central Europe and whose main aim was to perform arrangements for wind instruments of contemporary operas so that they could be played in the salons of the time. This album is a perfect example of this, in containing Harmoniemusik versions of 14 numbers of Mozart’s Zauberflote. The album is completed by the important Serenade KV 375, written by Mozart specifically for this instrumental setup.
