" excellent recording is strongly recommended.
Jerry Dubins - Fanfare - March/April 2013
"This is supremely approachable, engaging music [Gal], and sweetly played here - every chormatic kink handles with deft skill. Best is the closing Alla Marcia, dazzling in terms of its technical facility, and, evidently, very enjoyable to play brilliantly communicative pieces [Kása’s Tanec and Passacaglia] each one a masterly exercise in music doublespeak. Eloquent performances in glowing sound.

Vividly recorded, the three instrumentalists of Ensemble Epomeo – closelybalanced in a slightly too big and resonant acoustic – play superbly individuallyand as a team and with obvious commitment; clearly Kenneth Woods’s burgeoningconducting career is not to the detriment of his artistry on the cello. Woods hasalso written a typically enlightening booklet note.

"Ensemble Epomeo plays with finesse and sensitivity, nicely capturing Krasa’s manic grotesqueries as well as Gal’s elegance and tenderness. Sonics are clean and natural.
Mark l Lehman - American Record Guide - November/December 2012
"Sound quality is very good. In their debut recording, Ensemble Epomeo (named after an Ischian mountain) are thoroughly convincing from beginning to end. Their sense of ensemble is democratic, their attention to the score attentive and respectful, and their tone warm and welcoming. Expressively they are as much at home with the elegant, small-R romantic classicism of Gál as with the more semantically ambiguous colourings of Krása.Incidentally, the ’Complete String Trios’ title is not entirely accurate, at least not if an older, broader definition of the genre is taken: according to the Hans Gál Society’s website, there are also two works for two violins and cello, a Scherzando without opus number and a Little Suite op.49a (with piano ad lib.). At any rate, there is much more of Gál’s glorious chamber music still inexplicably awaiting a first recording.

Ensemble Epomeo provide ravishing accounts of both Gál works, fully in sympathy with the idiom a splendid disc that I cannot get enough of.
Guy Rickards - Gramophone magazine - Christmas Special Edition - December 2012
The Ensemble Epomeo play all four compositions with huge commitment and brilliant flair revealing every nuance in four wonderful works for string trio. These can sit alongside anything written in this genre. In every way this is a fantastic disc that listeners will want to hear again and again."

all the performances radiate sympathy for the music and a focused intensity that bespeaks both familiarity with this out-of-the way repertoire and considerable musicianship these are not easy works to bring out in such vital and well-characterized interpretations. Avie’d recording. too, is splendidly resonant and warm. A very recommendable dic for anyone interested in either composer.
