Solo: Ana-Marija Markovina Soloist
Notes
Throughout Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s works for the piano, one cannot help but appreciate his craftsmanship, his complete mastery of composition and his daring and joyful spirit. His style is extremely diverse and original; on one side, he extends elements of the Baroque style further, but at the same time, he moves boldly into the future. It is known that Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven diligently studied his music and were inspired by its inventiveness, harmonic finesse, the unorthodox contrapuntal elegance and richness of surprises.
This is a unique publication in commemoration of the Carl Philipp Bach Year and is the best opportunity to meet the multi-faceted CPE Bach. Pianist Ana-Marija Markovina has been playing the works of the Master for over ten years and is now thoroughly versed in his style. One of the most exciting aspects of this important project is Mrs.Markovina’s choice of playing on a modern Concert Grand (Bösendorfer) - an instrument that is truly able to realize all of the subtle dynamic shadings and exquisite delicacies of these extraordinary works. A truly impressive interpretation and an extraordinary accomplishment!
