About
Celebrating 100 years of A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, this double album features brand-new recordings of favourite carols by today's choir alongside remarkable historical recordings taken from the original BBC broadcasts of the service as far back as 1958. Among the historical tracks are world premiere performances of works by Judith Weir, Arvo Pärt and Thomas Adès, as well as carols by Bob Chilcott, Peter Warlock and John Rutter. New recordings include Tavener's stunning The Lamb and John Rutter's arrangement of O Holy Night.
