Reviews
If you initially wondered why these old mono tapes have been issued, the answer lies, comprehensively, in the quality of Randell’s performances. They are simply astonishingly good, of a uniform quality such as has not been surpassed by any of her successors on disc - no matter how eminent. Randell delivers superbly integrated accounts of the MacDowell Sonatas. In Hindemith’s Sonatas, her part playing and characterization are of the highest class. I doubt you will hear this music better played by anyone else."
