This month I have enjoyed my first two downloads from The Classical Shop. The first album I chose was the Bach keyboard concertos featuring Nick van Bloss. I have an SACD of many of these concerti with Perahia at the keyboard - but because I no longer have an SACD player (or DAC that handles DSD) I've gone without these favorite pieces for some time. I was thrilled to find that you folks are carrying the van Bloss recording in lossless format! In general your user interface is easily navigated, and while the actual download itself took a bit of time my first transaction was smooth. I'm appreciative that you include separate jpg files of the cover art - very helpful. Within a week of this first purchase I was back to procure a recording of orchestrated versions of Grieg piano pieces that was featured as your 'hourly bargain'. Very nice. I will say that you've created substantial temptation with the quick turnover of this 'bargain' offering - and this has caused me to visit the site far too many times! The only problem in these transactions has to do with the conversion to file formats other than WMA. I appreciate that you offer this facility (as the XLD and MAX programs I normally use for these conversions do not work with WMA). However, when an alternate format is selected for converion (WAV, for example) the 'converting in process - please wait' page stays open forever. I've had to close the page, then re-log into my account in order to begin the download. It worked, but was a hassle and it would be great if that were fixed. It would also be wonderful to have file type preferences associated with each account so that downloads would automatically be delivered in the desired format (AIFF, WAV, FLAC, WMA, etc.). Overall, however, I've had a great experience with your service and look forward to many more transactions. With best regards, Larry Parsons
