Reviews
"I was eager to review the present disc because Haydn is one of my favourite composers, and also because I was curious to hear how Feltsman would ’re-tune’ his powerful technique and piano sonority to the dimensions of Haydn. I was immediately happy to discover that Feltsman displays the same precise and immaculate fingerwork here as in his Liszt disc, but he delimits his range appropriately without in any way diminishing the scale of Haydn’s superb invention This is highly recommended.^
Stephen Pruslin - International Record Review - December 2013
"Listening to these two CDs, I could not but marvel at Haydn’s craftsmanship and inventive mind. Feltsman really gets under the skin of these works and delivers idiomatic and well-characterised renditions. Precision, stylish phrasing and responsive control of dynamics are the hallmarks, and the performances do not disappoint The piano sound in these recordings is warm and resonant. Clarity and definition are first rate. Documentation by Feltsman himself is illuminating. I would now like to explore Feltsman’s other albums on the back of these."
